GDL and Cremona – Another typical feature of French windows is the way in which 2-sash windows are closed. The turnstile or basquil lock (Cremona) works in such a way that when the window is opened, both sashes open at the same time. This is due to a special movable mullion, the design of which is called ‘wolf’s mouth with a ram’s head’. In our offer, we call this solution GDL.
It is noteworthy that French windows are usually not covered by curtains or drapes. They are therefore a highly exposed element of interior design. In order to maintain high aesthetics, the movable mullion in the window is most often in the option with the handle located in the middle of the mullion (option – with central handle).

A traditional yet frequently chosen way to close a French window is to use the CREMONA espagnolette, which in the interior perfectly emphasises the character of the building.
