What kind of wood windows to choose?

19 November 2024 |

We use glued laminated timber to produce windows. Below are the basic species of plywood we use with a brief description of the wood: jointed pine, solid pine, meranti, oak.
Also available: larch, spruce, accoya and other wood species. Some of them are made to order or available upon meeting the minimum order requirement. Please ask us for details.

Solid Pine and pine micro – technical properties of wood

  • density after cutting – 750-820-850 kg/m3
  • density at 12-15% humidity – 330-510-890 kg/m3,
  • density used for production 420 kg/m3 or more
  • origin: central, northern and eastern Europe
  • painted with covering paints (RAL), smooth as a table

The differences between jointed pine (commonly called micro) and solid pine can be found in the link.

Meranti – technical properties of wood

  • density in the freen state: 650 -850 kg/m3
  • density at 12% moisture content: 390 -560 – 760 kg/m3
  • density used for production 450 kg/m3 or more
  • origin: South Asia – East Malaysia, Indonesia
  • painted with covering paints (RAL) highlights the porosity and structure of the wood

Oak – technical properties of wood

  • density after cutting – 900-1150 kg/m3,
  • density at 12-15% humidity- 430-690-960 kg/m3,
  • density used for production 650 kg/m3 or more
  • origin: Europe, Asia, Scandinavian, Finland, Spain, France
  • painted with covering paints (RAL) highlights the porosity and structure of the wood

Accoya

Accoya is wood, but not as we know it from most types of wood. This highly innovative wood is acetylated, an advanced patented technology that guarantees 50 years of use above ground and 25 years in soil or fresh water. The application of acetylation to fast-growing softwoods, a wood modification process that has been studied by scientists around the world for over 80 years, produces highly sustainable Accoya wood. This method of wood processing doubles the durability of the coatings, which makes the performance of this acrylic wood extremely reliable
